Amy & Steve are the kind of couple you meet and instantly adore. Amy with her sweet & spunky personality, and Steve with his quiet but loving demeanor – they’re the perfect complement to one another. Admittedly, Amy was the one to win us over. After all, it was she who contacted us and did the tasting with us; but she never neglected to fill us in on her then fiancé–so much so that we felt like we already knew him.
Amy came to us based on a referral by a chef for whom our very own chef used to work. She described herself as a ‘foodie’ {a sure way to win us over} from the South with a few important requests. First, she absolutely had to have her home state of Virginia’s ‘unofficial’ signature sandwich incorporated into her reception; we gladly accepted the challenge of miniaturizing her beloved ham biscuit to be passed as a late-night snack. {Check.} Secondly, she informed us that she wanted her mother and mother-in-law to be the ones to stock the sweets table with traditional family recipes. {Not a problem.} Finally, she wanted a sophisticated menu that would give her guests the experience of eating at a fine-dining restaurant. {Music to our ears!} To top it all, the vision she described for her wedding was so dreamy, we knew she was the client for us!
The couple worked with Estera Events and Fleur to bring their vision of ‘vintage romance meets modern love’ to life. We love how all of the pieces came together so perfectly, from the custom linens to the mismatched vintage dinnerware to the milk glass, mercury, and crystal vases housing glorious garden blooms — each element gave us something to swoon over.
Written in the Cards: Escort cards were pinned to a board that was created by Estera Events to mimic the couple’s invitations. Amy created her own guest book for guests to write their wishes for the couple. She also found vintage playing cards at a relative’s home and decided to cleverly use them as table names. The couple sat at a sweetheart table called ‘Sassy Squirrel’, a nod to Amy’s personality.
In Full Bloom:The beautiful centerpieces, reminiscent of florals you’d find on vintage dinnerware, were all created by Fleur. Vintage dinnerware was provided by Plate Vintage Rentals.
